Product Overview
Flooring Stapler for installing hardwood floors between 1/2 – 3/4 inches thick. Used by many contractors and DIY flooring installers this tool works well for all skill levels. The sturdy long handle allows for great control and keeps you from breaking your back. The staple magazine holds 100 flooring staples, and staple length can vary between 1 1/2″ to 2″ depending on what you need. The air inlet is standard 1/4″. Air consumption is low at 4.5 CFM and allows you to use a small compressor. Input pressure should be controlled between 60 and 100 PSI. With a little practice this tool will allow you to lay hundreds of square feet per day. Depending on the type of wood you will need to vary the input pressure. Bamboo is very hard and brittle and requires a low pressure to prevent damage. Teak and some other very dense hard woods will require 100 PSI. You should test on a piece of scrap plank to make sure you are getting good results. The flooring stapler is used by placing it on the edge of a piece of hardwood flooring. The included mallet is then used to strike the actuator and fire the staple in. The most difficult part of the process is just moving the flooring stapler around. Included in the kit is a Carrying Case, flooring Stapler , Safety Glasses, Air Tool Oil, Base Plate, S3 Hex Key S4 Hex Key S5 Hex Key Wrench, and Instruction Manual.

For such a light gun, this one really gets the job done. It’s just a bit more than 4 pounds, but it feels even lighter than that in hand because, we assume, of Hitachi’s famous design and engineering. Equipped with a contact trip mechanism, it fires as fast as you can go, but you can pick up the optional sequential trigger if you need it. The magazine holds a robust 150 staples, and that means less downtime for reloading. We like the open magazine design, because you can see at just a glance if you’re running low on fasteners. Not that we’ve ever fired blanks…
We couldn’t get this gun to jam, but the clearing process is fast and simple: Just release the lock latch, open the blade guide, free the jam with a screwdriver and close the latch. Done. There’s a nice clean depth-of-drive adjustment, but it isn’t tool-free, so users may prefer controlling that with air pressure.
